Hello there!
I’m Vale and this is my blog.
I’m a video coding researcher at Ericsson, with a deep interest in applying AI/ML to solve real-world problems. ![]()
Before that, I’ve had the privilege of working as a research assistant at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), specifically at the Chair of Signal Processing (MSV). My research focused on leveraging deep learning to enhance the physical layer of wireless communication systems, addressing challenges such as distribution shifts, channel compression, channel aging, and precoding optimization using graph-neural networks. This research formed the core of my doctoral work, culminating in the prestigious Dr.-Ing. summa cum laude degree from TUM in 2025. ![]()
During my time at TUM, I collaborated with Futurewei Technologies (USA) and Imperial College London to develop AI-driven solutions for next-generation wireless systems. At the same time, I supported the Numerical Linear Algebra for Signal Processing course in the Master’s program by conducting tutorials (exercise lectures) and preparing programming projects. ![]()
I hold both a BSc and an MSc (both with honors) in Telecommunication Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. During my master’s studies, I did an exchange and wrote my master’s thesis at TUM, while also working as a signal processing student at Intel Corporation during the “5G era”. ![]()
I’m a big fan of Weights & Biases (wandb), an awesome tool for tracking ML experiments. Feel free to check my ML portfolio there!
Aside from my research, I’m truly passionate about everything AI/ML-related. This space is where I collect my notes on all the fascinating things I’ve encountered throughout my journey, starting from my time as a young researcher at TUM. ![]()
